RIZAL- In the spirit of promoting work-life balance and a healthy lifestyle, the Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI), thru the Finance and Administrative Division and Science Education Institute Employees Association (SEIA), joined eighteen (18) other DOST regional offices and attached agencies in the opening ceremonies of the 2023 DOST Sports Festival held at the Binangonan Recreation and Conference Center in Binangonan, Rizal last April 26, 2023.
DOST-SEI Holds 1st Track of Supervisory Training for Next-generation Leaders

TAGUIG CITY- The Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI), together with the Civil Service Commission-National Capital Region (CSC-NCR), held the first track of the Supervisory Development Course (SDC) last April 11-14, 2023.
The SDC has three (3) tracks that aim to provide a solid foundation to guide participants in transitioning from technical to supervisory roles. The first track, facilitated by Director Emma Barrera of the CSC-NCR, focuses on re-examining the participants’ attitudes towards themselves and their careers, differentiating the responsibilities of supervisors and non-management staff, providing road maps on how supervisors can become leaders, and discussing the importance of communication to organizational effectiveness.

DOST-SEI Spearheads International Virtual Event For National Women’s Month

From being a scholar to championing the challenges in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) women have become instrumental in shaping our society. This has been demonstrated in the United Nation’s 67th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67) Philippine-led Virtual Side Event “#SheSTEMs: Championing Women’s Participation in STEM Education and Careers” hosted by the Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI).
In celebration of women’s month, presenters and speakers from the United Nations entities, private sector, and civil society, along with DOST-SEI’s Director Dr. Josette Biyo, gathered on the virtual stage and shared their own significant stories as women. They encouraged women to continue to own up their achievements and continue pursuing STEM because it is a field where they can thrive and are meant to succeed.
Leave a Nest PH, DOST-SEI focus on developing research plans in sixth Project SET session

To continue on its modules on innovation and technopreneurship, the Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) and Leave a Nest Philippines, Inc. (LVNS PH) held its sixth session on Scholars Entrepreneurship Training, more popularly known as Project SET, last April 29, 2023 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).
The training program mainly aims to inculcate ingenious and innovative mindsets to scholar-participants to help them easily innovate things, bring these innovations to their communities, and use such to make a lasting positive impact to society. Most importantly, the project intends to train DOST-SEI undergraduate scholars in helping cultivate and nourish a culture of science and technology in the country by informing them of how entrepreneurship can add value to the STEM fields that they are in.
