Ex-UPLB Chancellor, ABS-CBN's E-Media honored science education champs

Champions of science education have received righteous recognition of their many contributions in the field during the 3rd Gawad Leadership and Innovations for Development Relevant to Science Education (Gawad LIDER) Awarding Ceremony.
Conferred with the Exemplary Leadership Awards were Dr. Luis Rey I. Velasco, renowned entomologist and former Chancellor of the University of the Philippines - Los Banos (UPLB) for the Individual category, and ABS-CBN Foundation, Inc. (AFI) E-Media Group, the foundation's education arm, for the Institution category.

Kenneth Co of Philippine Science High School - Diliman and Mikaela Angeline Uy of Saint Jude Catholic School scored 14 points apiece to carry on the country's streak of garnering at least the bronze medal in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) since 2008.
PHL bags 1st silver in 24th Asian-Pacific Math Olympiad
A High school student from Chiang Kai Shek College has set a historic feat in the prestigious 24th Asian-Pacific Math Olympiad (APMO) as he won the Philippine's first ever silver medal from the prestigious competition.
Philippine Mathematical Olympiad and International Mathematical Olympiad veteran Henry Jefferson Morco scored 23 points to nail the country's first ever silver medal in the APMO, a correspondence type competition held last March 13.
Morco shared the stage with Philippine Science High School - Diliman's (PSHS) Kenneth Co, who marked 16 points, to win the bronze medal. The Philippine contingent also seized four honorable mentions thereby securing one of the most successful outings for the country.
